Wellity Global provides us with their latest updates and explains what leavism is and what we can do to avoid it.
This week, Sadie Restorick, COO & Co-Founder, Wellity Global reflects on what leavism is and how to tackle it and Simon Scott-Nelson: Founder & CEO shares an exciting update for Wellity.
Sadie, says “Leavism is where you consistently work during your time off. For example, working during weekends, annual leave and evenings. So, how do we tackle it?”
With many of us heading off on our summer vacation, we wanted to take the time to discuss the importance of leavism and the actions you can take in tackling it.
So, what is leavism?
Leavism is where you consistently work during your time off. For example, working during weekends, annual leave and evenings. Studies from the CIPD show that 69% of employees recognise that leavism has occurred in their workplace.
With workplaces becoming increasingly competitive and employees overburdened, it can be easy to slip back into work mode whilst on holiday. However, it’s important to take the time to step away and disconnect.
Here are a few of our top tips:
-
Eliminate distractions
-
Implement boundaries
-
Turn off your device notifications
-
Connect with the outside world
-
Remember to give yourself the break you deserve!
