Apple chief executive Tim Cook was given a 43% salary increase in February last year, the tech giant has revealed.

His base salary rose to $2m (£1.3m), up from $1.4m. And his total remuneration doubled to $9.2m.

Mr Cook was rewarded for Apple shares hitting record levels last year as a record 40 million iPhones were sold.
