The Business School at University College Birmingham has rejoined the Great British Entrepreneur Awards as its education partner for the Midlands region.

The Business School at UCB joined the programme for the first time in 2018 and the Great British Entrepreneur Awards team said they are "thrilled" UCB has committed itself to the mission of championing entrepreneurs again in 2019.

The debate between university and entrepreneurship has grown and grown in recent years, with many entrepreneurs telling the younger generation that they shouldn't go to university if they want to run their own business. GBEA said over the past year working with the Business School at UCB, they've "seen how they're putting a huge amount of focus on bridging the gap, not forcing young people to choose between university and starting a business".

Announcing the news, GBEA said UCB is "here to provide a learning environment where entrepreneurship and attaining a degree go hand in hand, providing the ideal platform from which students can reach their potential".

Great British Entrepreneur Awards founder, Francesca James, said: "The Business School at UCB are leading the way in showing that universities are a great place for budding, young, entrepreneurs to start their journey, learning many of the core skills required to start and run a business.

"I'm thrilled to be working with them again in 2019."
