Social Media Day is this Thursday. Never heard of it?

The idea was started by tech blog giant Mashable 2 years ago is heading into its second year at quite some pace.

The day recognises and celebrates 'technological advancements that enable everyone to connect with real-time information, communicate from miles apart and have their voices be heard.'

So how do you get involved?

Social Media Day's creators, Mashable, want to celebrate the tech phenomenom that allows people to converse in real time globally.

There are many ways to mark the day, you could attend one of the several meetups (tweetups) scheduled globally, create one in your area, join in the conversation on-line using the hashtag #SMDay and talk or share socially via your social networks.

For more information on meetups, and to discover more about the day, visit the Mashable.com here.

If you're having a 'meetup' or a 'tweetup' let us know @freshbusiness and we'll happily help you spread the word.
