A US phone company called ISIS has officially changed its name to Softcard.

The US firm, which is backed by the likes of Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile, announced plans to change in names in July awareness grew of the so-called Islamic State or (ISIS) group emerged in the UK.

But now the name has officially changed to Softcard.

"However coincidental, we have no desire to share a name with this group and our hearts go out to those affected by this violence," chief executive Michael Abbott said in a statement.
