The productivity of workers in the UK fell again in the last three months of 2018, according to the Office for National Statistics (ONS).
The ONS said productivity was down 0.1% compared with the same quarter a year ago and marks the second consecutive quarterly fall after a 0.2% drop between July and September.
The figures suggest that productivity has grown over the past 10 years at its slowest rate since the start of the 20th century.
ONS deputy chief economist Richard Heys said: "It has taken the UK a decade to deliver 2% growth, which historically was achieved in a single year."
Despite the year-on-year fall, the October-December period actually saw productivity rise 0.3% compared with the previous quarter.
