During his trade mission to the Gulf this week, Trade and Investment Minister Lord Green visited the Avenues Mall in Kuwait, home to more than 20 British brands including Mothercare.
Mothercare is part of the 25-strong British business delegation accompanying the trade mission this week.
Mothercare opened its first ever international franchise store in Kuwait more than 25 years ago. It now has more than 200 franchise stores across the Gulf.
CEO Ben Gordon said: "With a young and fast-growing population, the Gulf states represent a fantastic opportunity for Mothercare. We now have nearly 900 stores in 54 countries across the world. International growth is a critical part of our growth today and for the future."
This week's business delegation to the Gulf includes the UK's top business leaders from a range of sectors including education, science and retail, construction, financial services and design.
