SuperGroup plc (LSE: SGP) is a British retail brand.
It is listed on the London Stock Exchange and is a constituent of the FTSE 250 Index.
The Group is made up of three main brands: Superdry, 77Breed and SurfCo California. Superdry products fuse vintage Americana fabrics with pseudo-Japanese text and have gained international recognition.
The 77Breed and SurfCo brands target the skate and surf markets respectively.
The business was established by Julian Dunkerton as Cult Clothing in Cheltenham in 1985.
It opened its first store under the Superdry name in Covent Garden in London in 2004.
The popularity of the brand grew rapidly after David Beckham was seen wearing its signature Osaka T-shirts and Brad leather jacket.
The business has since been floated on the stock market and is part of the FTSE 250.
Dunkerton was ranked 793rd in the Sunday Times Rich List 2009, and said to be worth an estimated £70m.
