A survey by marketing magazine 'Campaign' has revealed Sony as the most valuable Asian brand.

This will come as a boost to Sony who had a series of hacking attacks this year, putting the personal information of over 100 million users at risk.

All of the top five slots in the rankings were occupied by consumer electronic brands, although no Chinese brand names made it into the top 100.

"This year's survey reiterated the challenges Chinese and Indian brands are facing to gain consumer recognition beyond their home markets," the report said.

The top five brands were unchanged from last year, reflecting their everyday appeal among Asia's shoppers.
