Snow and icy conditions are forecast to continue to affect many parts of the UK through the coming week as Met Office forecasters warn of further snowfall mainly across parts of northern and eastern Scotland and eastern parts of England.
Met Office Chief Forecaster, Tony Waters said: “With no sign in our extended outlook of the icy weather easing its grip, the public are advised to stay up to date with the forecast to make sure they have the latest information.”
Snow showers have given some significant falls in eastern Scotland and northeast England where over 15 cm has fallen in places. Around 18 cm in Aberdeen and Edinburgh. The remainder of northern England, the east Midlands and eastern England have seen lighter snow, with 6 cm in Nottingham for instance. Snow has brought a covering of 2 to 5 cm in parts of the southeast of England by this morning.
