The Shift 100 has been put together to identify retail technology entrepreneurs who are bringing new ideas and products to market, creating integrated customer experiences and leading the move away from traditional ‘clicks and mortar’ e-commerce.
These entrepreneurs have been selected because they are dynamic, agile and shifting gears. They have brought an innovative product to market, cleverly harnessed a technology or process, led the revolutionary execution of a new technology and disrupted their markets.
Bruce and Brett Bannister have been recognised within retail technology Shift 100 in association with KPMG Small Business Accounting.
The former footballer Bruce Bannister started B-Sporting, which was rebranded to Sportsshoes.com when his son Brett became managing director.
When Brett took over leadership of the company, he put a large focus on digital which has seen the company’s web traffic continue to surge upwards. The store that Bruce opened in 1982 was closed down in 2012. With more than 9,000 products available to choose from online, the team of 125 is delivering to over 100 countries.
USP: Offering a large range of online sports shoes.
