Brandauer, the Birmingham-based manufacturer, is eyeing growth in the Middle East.

The precision presswork and stamping company believes the region is emerging as a viable manufacturing base for international businesses, which means more of its current and potential customers will invest in the area.

Brandauer currently sees 3% of their turnover coming from the Middle East, however, sales and marketing director Rowan Crozier is confident that figure will rise as more businesses establish manufacturing bases in the region.

“The trip with HSBC to Dubai really opened my eyes to the potential of the region and I am confident we will be doing more business in the Middle East going forward, as well as North Africa," Crozier said.

“It is a viable, low-cost region to manufacture in that will compete against the likes of Asia and Eastern Europe going forward. We generate 75% of our £8m turnover from exports but the United Arab Emirates is a fairly new region for us. However, if our customers are there, we will be there.”

'Open to Export' is a UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) initiative in partnership with hibu plc (formerly Yell Group).
