BP's CEO, Tony Hayward is expected to quit this week following widespread criticism of his handling of the Gulf of Mexico oil spill with current managing director, Bob Dudley expected to succeed him.

Mr Hayward has ta2en on a high-profile role as the face of BP for the duration of the clean up operation to date, and by making remarks like the statement he made saying that he was eager to resolve the incident "so that I can have my life back" did nothing to tame angered critics state side.

However, despite the press speculation this weekend surrounding the alleged changes to management, BP insists;

'That no final decision has been made on these matters. A Board meeting is being held on Monday evening ahead of the announcement of the second quarter results on 27th July. Any decisions will be announced as appropriate.'
