November has begun, and with it comes another month in which men around the planet cultivate moustaches in a bid to raise money for charity and to raise awareness about men's health.

Now in its seventh year, the official Movember charity has raised in excess of £106million in the UK alone- with more from franchises in its native Australia as well as the US, South Africa, Czech Republic and elsewhere across the globe.

This month the charity’s profile has been boosted by a host of celebrities voicing support to the cause, including Stephen Fry.

United under the twitter #tashtag, tweeters have been spreading publicity about the humourous event, imploring the public to donate to help suffers of testicular and prostate cancers. The charity’s website provides the following explanation.

On Movember 1st, guys register at with a clean-shaven face and then for the rest of the month, these selfless and generous men, known as Mo Bros, groom, trim and wax their way into the annals of fine moustachery. Supported by the women in their lives, Mo Sistas, Movember Mo Bros raise funds by seeking out sponsorship for their Mo-growing efforts.
