James Murdoch, who has been under increasing pressure for his part in the phone hacking scandal, has stepped down as director of the firms that are responsible for the publishing of The Times, The Sunday Times and the Sun.
According to records at Company House Mr Murdoch relinquished his position on the board of News Group Newspapers Limited in September.
This news, that comes ahead of a key BSkyB shareholder meeting, will only add to the pressure mounting on Mr Murdoch to step down from the company altogether.
Mr Murdoch will remain as chairman of News International and deputy chief operating officer of News Corp.
