Image: Jaguar Land RoverJaguar Land Rover has announced plans to double the size of its plant in Wolverhampton, creating hundreds of new jobs.
Opened in 2014, the plant already employs 700 people. But the car manufacturer will invest £450 million to double its size to 20,000 sq ft, taking its total investment into the plant to nearly £950m.
Executive director Mike Wright said that expanding the plant was "absolutely pivotal" to the company's global expansion plans.
"As we grow our volumes around the world we need more capacity," he said.
"We've started the initial phase just 12 months ago, that's gone really well, and we're now planning for the next phase for the next two or three years."
