You may have read in another of these Integrated Live speaker interviews that I fancy myself as bit of an armchair psychologist. I find it fascinating. So that's why I'm really excited to see Sophie Turton, content marketing specialist at Bozboz, and her presentation on the the psychology behind the language used in paid search campaigns.

But here's a bit more about Sophie.

What area of marketing do you specialise in?

Content and digital PR.

How long have you been with the company?

18 months.

How long have you been in marketing?

Five years.

Why do you do what you do?

I love content marketing because it's a combination of all of the communications disciplines. This means my job is never boring - I get to be forever analysing behaviours, experimenting with new ways of expressing ideas and communicating with a wide variety of people on a range of issues in a way they will understand.

Which marketing platform do you use the most?

That's hard to say. We use a wide range of platforms and I can't really say one is more valuable or better utilised than any others.

If you could only use one marketing platform for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Urm...probably Twitter. It's a great source of real time information, allows you to communicate directly with people in real time and target people based on their interests and what they're talking about. It's also one of the best channels to gather user-generated content, which is my favourite thing at the moment.

What is your favourite thing about marketing?

Communicating with people, learning from the way they see the world and creating stories that reflect this. It's always interesting.

Is content still king?

Nope. The audience is king. Content is more the kingdom in which the frolic. We as marketers are more like the court jesters, forever trying to entertain the customer.

In a sentence, what's your presentation about?

My talk focuses on the psychology of language for paid search, not just for keyword relevance but for the simple act of communication.

You can find Sophie's presentation on psychology in language of paid search in the Innovation & Insight Theatre at 2:30pm at Integrated Live on 16 November, but you'll have to register for your free ticket first:
