Small businesses now have a powerful voice in the cabinet, according to the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB).
It comes after Prime Minister David Cameron announced that Anna Soubry would be the first ever Minister for Small Business.
The FSB believes this appointment is a fitting recognition of the huge contribution UK small firms make to the Economy. Mike Cherry, FSB Policy Director, said: “This is a big win for the FSB as we have long been pushing for a dedicated voice at the heart of Government who could robustly advocate for the UK’s 5.2 million smaller firms. With Anna Soubry’s appointment to Cabinet, small businesses can now feel more confident that their concerns will be heard at the highest level.
“As the voice of small business, the FSB will work closely with the new Minister to tackle the big issues facing our members."
Yesterday (Monday), the FSB published its research on what small businesses want from the new all-Conservative government.
