Franchise expert Chris Gibson has partnered with strategic business advisor Mark Norden to expand Franology Limited, providing “no nonsense” consultancy services for new and existing franchise concepts.

Franology, the franchising consultancy, has announced expansion plans following their new partnership with Nordens, Chartered Accountants and Strategic Business Advisors.

Franchise consultant Chris Gibson, who has over ten years as a franchise executive and consultant, has partnered with Mark Norden, founder of Nordens, which specialises in helping SMEs reach their potential. Blending their respective expertise in both strategic planning and the “science”
of franchising, Gibson and Norden aim to offer franchise businesses a value-adding service aimed at:

• Clarifying their franchise strategy
• Planning for reaching profitability quickly
• Effective exit-strategy formulation

Gibson and Norden share a vision to provide these services in a practical and cost-effective way for the client, offering a range of services including marketing support, franchise specific legal advice and exit planning. Instead of charging hefty consultancy fees, Franology will enter into consulting agreements in which reward is based on eventual value achieved for the client. To this end they have already secured a number of clients on a result- based equity arrangement to ensure mutual commitment in achieving goals and targets.

“This is an exciting time for Franology”, said Gibson whose pedigree within UK and overseas franchise management includes a spell as CEO of award-winning ChemEx International. “In partnership with Mark, we can now offer planning and consultancy advice, along with practical support. By offering this in return for a small equity share in the business (effective on exit), we not only make quality consultancy financially achievable early in the day, when it is most critical, but we also ensure that our clients’
objectives and ambitions become our own”.

Recent economic upheaval and ongoing uncertainty have resulted in a lack of start-up confidence, despite a wealth of opportunities for franchise
businesses. Gibson and Norden believe that the Franology proposition
bridges the gap between opportunity and risk, by reducing the upfront cost for consulting fees — a factor which prevents many businesses from seeking advice, perhaps when they most need it.
