Facebook shares dipped 4% on Monday after it suffered its second website outage in less than a week.

The social network site was site for around 40 minutes on Monday, displaying the message: "Sorry, something went wrong. We're working on it and we'll get it fixed as soon as we can."

A Facebook spokesperson said: "We are currently restoring Facebook services that people had trouble accessing earlier today due to a configuration."
