Today (21 January) is the most popular day for LinkedIn users to update their profiles as they scour their network for new career options.

However, LinkedIn has warned that businesses risk failing to catch the attention of potential candidates by not differentiating themselves from their competitors when it comes to their employer brands.

As it celebrates reaching 20 million members in the UK, LinkedIn has revealed the ten most overused 'buzzwords' from the million of LinkedIn company pages. The list shows the risks to businesses and brands of failing to stand out from the crowd online, particularly when it comes to attracting new talent.

Chris Brown, director of UK talent solutions at LinkedIn, said: "January is the busiest time of the year for LinkedIn members updating their profiles as they return from the Christmas holidays refreshed and considering new career moves. In order to attract the best talent, employers should be making sure their online presence reflects what makes them special as an employer and stands them apart from the competition for talent."
