Content rich websites attract customers and regular fresh content keeps them coming back for more. Website content needs to be created for people not search engines and it needs to add value, whether that value is information, advice or entertainment.

Content is now considered so important that a whole industry of content marketing ‘gurus’ has been spawned. The term content marketing can cover blogging, video, white papers, social media — basically it’s the ‘stuff’ that’s on your website.

In today’s connected world if you have a web presence of any description you are a publisher, and therefore you need to start thinking and acting like a publisher — providing content that people will love.

If Google thinks Content is King — then it is!

If you want your business to be found online then you need to be at the top of the search engine results pages (SERPS). To achieve this, your website or blog needs to have; relevant, fresh, quality content.

Search engines' algorithms are aimed at helping people find "high-quality" sites that add value to users with articles that provide original content or information.

At Fresh Business Thinking we have been creating quality online content for six years, not only for our own websites but for organisations such as; The Independent, Reuters, Microsoft, Dell and a host of smaller businesses.

Google’s guidelines say to; “focus on delivering the best possible experience for users.” And our experienced team write first and foremost for the reader.

Good content is not easy to create but once you have interesting and relevant information or news on your website then this will encourage other sites to ‘link’ to you.

Use your content to attract new customers: Not only will these links generate additional traffic they will also help you rise up the results page as search engines view ‘links’ from other sites as a vote.

If another site links to yours, it must think your site is valuable and the search engines reward this ‘recommendation’.

Once you have regular quality content on your website or blog you can then use this to fuel your social media marketing by posting to Twitter, LinkedIn and others.

Good content will then be amplified to a far wider, yet still contextual audience which will boost the ultimate return on your website investment.
