The Prime Minister, Rt Hon David Cameron MP, yesterday (Thursday) visited the UK headquarters of DHL Express in Feltham to meet employees and understand how the world’s leading international express delivery company is facilitating the British import and export market.
As a major employer in the Feltham and Hounslow area, David Cameron
visited DHL Express to understand the company’s operations and gave
employees the opportunity to ask questions in an open forum.
“It was great to meet people from the Feltham area and see first-hand the essential role DHL Express plays both in the local area and globally. Global export markets should be the next frontier for all fledgling enterprises producing great British products," Prime Minister, David Cameron said.
"That’s why I’m here today to understand the vital role logistics plays
in facilitating international trade and to better understand the great
work DHL Express has been doing to encourage UK SMEs to sell their wares to the world.”
Phil Couchman, CEO DHL Express UK and Ireland, was delighted at the opportunity to demonstrate DHL's role in export in the UK.
“We were delighted to welcome Mr David Cameron to our offices in Feltham and showcase how DHL is facilitating growth for exporters of all sizes," he said.
"Employees were inspired to meet the Prime Minister and enjoyed the
unique opportunity to discuss topics such as the upcoming summit in
Brussels, apprenticeships and the role of companies like DHL Express
in international trade.”
