BT group has reported full-year pre-tax profits of £2.645 billion, a 14% rise on the previous year.
But the telecoms giant did see revenues fall 2% to £17.85bn.
BT chief executive Gavin Patterson said the company had reduced operating costs by 6% during the fourth quarter.
In the fourth quarter, BT said it added a record 455,000 broadband customers.
After more than a decade out of the mobile industry, BT is set to purchase EE for £12.5bn after the move was approved by shareholders last week.
