Consumers will be able to get their hands on two new Marmite based board games after Pants on Fire Games became the first ever board games company to receive investment on BBC's Dragon's Den.

Viewers watched lifelong pals Richard McLuckie and Stuart McKenzie-Walker leave the Den with £50,000 backing from Duncan Bannatyne and Peter Jones, for their games publishing company which specialises in creating fun and off-the-wall board games for all the family.

As a result, Pants on Fire Games has revealed their two brand new, fully licensed Marmite board games, Love It or Hate It and Who Put the Marmite In The Fridge?, which go on sale this week in branches of WHSmith throughout the country.

“We’re obviously thrilled with the result,” said Pants on Fire’s Richard McLuckie.

“We entered the Den back in May of this year, hoping to get interest from one Dragon, so to leave with the backing of two is a real coup. It was touch and go for a while, especially when nerves got the better of us, but the end result is exactly what Pants on Fire needs to reach the next level of success.

"We’re excited about expanding our portfolio — starting with the two Marmite board games — and we’ve already heard from other retailers who want to stock even more of our games now that we’ve got the Dragons on board.”

Peter Jones added: “It’s great to be working with Richard and Stuart. Their enthusiasm for board games knows no bounds and I can’t wait to help them bring all their new concepts and ideas to life. What I like about Pants on Fire is the cheeky edge to all of their games — they perfectly combine family fun with the right measure of wit and humour, resulting in games which bring people together and make them laugh. It’s a winning formula.”

Bannatyne and Jones each now own 20% of Pants on Fire Games, reducing to 15% each once the initial investment is repaid.

Stuart Mackenzie-Walker said: "Having the Dragons’ backing means that not only can we get our existing range in front of more buyers and ultimately more families in the UK, but also we’re now able to spend even more time and energy doing what we’re passionate about: exploring and developing the many fun concepts we have for new games to add to the collection.”
