On one of the busiest shopping days of the year, Boxing Day, London faces being ground to a halt after it was confirmed today (Monday) that London Underground drivers will go on strike.

The Aslef union has confirmed that the drivers will strike on Boxing Day, as well as January 18th and 25th in a row over bank holiday pay.

A stoppage is likely to affect Tube services across the capital, causing disruption for shoppers and tourists.

Earlier, London Underground's Howard Collins said: "Further industrial action will not achieve anything."

It will be the third successive Boxing Day walkout by Tube drivers in a dispute over bank holiday pay.
