The Bank of England's maintained its 7:2 split in the vote on raising interest rates, meeting minutes show.

Seven of the Bank's Monetary Policy Committee (MPC), which sets interest rates, voted in favour of keeping interest rates at the record low of 0.5%, where they have been since March 2009.

Ian McCafferty and Martin Weale continued to vote in favour of an increase to 0.75%.

How the MPC voted is typically revealed around two weeks after the decision is announced. But the governor of the Bank of England Mark Carney recently announced that minutes would be published at the same time as the decision on interest rates from August 2015.
