Entrepreneurial Australian Leisure business, Colonial Leisure Group (CLG), has backed chef Nick Atkins, Hospitality expert Jonny Townsend, and Destination Consultant Jeremy Brown who operate as ROCK. The new company will be known as ROCK CLG.

Colonial Leisure recently acquired Pennsylvania Castle from which it is running a highly successful wedding, corporate and private hire venture. Having worked with Rock to cater a number of events, Colonial’s UK Managing Director, Chris Holleyoak was interested to hear the company was in the process of opening its first Pub and Dining Room, ROCK Raynes Park, in South West London.

Impressed with ROCK’s unique offering and impeccable service, Chris Holleyoak and Colonial owner Chris Morris, were delighted to discover that ROCK were actively seeking funding for the roll-out of further Pub and Dining Rooms.

With an existing brief to invest in exciting new leisure businesses, the opportunity provides a perfect fit. Following a sizeable cash injection from Colonial in exchange for shares in the business, Rock is now poised to open two new Dorset restaurants, one in Wimborne and the other in Westbourne. Both will be open before Christmas. A further 3 sites are also being considered in the Dorset and Hampshire area.

Speaking about the agreement, Chris Holleyoak commented: “From the first time we worked with ROCK we just knew they was something special about them. Fantastic food delivered with creativity and flair and supported by a service second to none has made ROCK Food and Events our first choice of caterer and event managers at The Penn.”

Chris continued: “When we heard they were looking for funding for their new venture ROCK Restaurants, we were keen to explore the opportunity. We are delighted that we’ve found a way to support ROCK RESTAURANTS both financially and strategically and look forward to sharing in the success of this exciting new venture.”

Nick Atkins, co-founder of ROCK Food and Events and ROCK Restaurants said: “We consider ourselves very fortunate to have Colonial Leisure on board. Not only has it allowed us to move forward with opening two new Restaurant doors, we can already see the benefits that their contacts and business skills are going to our venture. We’re really looking forward to working with Chris and the team and look forward to great times ahead.”
