Amlin plc (LSE: AML) is an insurance underwriting company headquartered in London, specialising in the insurance of commercial enterprises.
The Company was formed in 1998 through the merger of two existing underwriters - Angerstein Underwriting Trust plc (founded in 1993) and Murray Lawrence Group plc (founded in 1984).
On 3 June 2009 Amlin announced that it bought Fortis Corporate Insurance from the Dutch government for €350 million.
