The Bank of England's Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) maintained its 7:2 split in its decision to keep interest rates at 0.5%.

It is the fourth month in a row that two members of the committee have voted for an increase to 0.75%.

The Bank of England revealed two weeks ago that interest rates would be kept at the record low of 0.5% for another month. The minutes from the meeting are always published two weeks after the announcement.
