Founded in 2016, Hoop was launched with a mission to change the perception of recruitment. The business works with a selection of public, private and third sector clients and holds a Gold REC accreditation. From its multiple locations (including homeworking), Hoop matches people to jobs and whilst that sounds simple, its way of recruiting is about a lot more than just tracking down people who have the right skills and qualifications. Hoop are specialists and recruit at all levels, mainly in Wales and the South West and its teams are headed up by industry leaders, supported by well-connected, talented recruitment consultants.

Hoop had one aim when it started namely to change the perception of the recruitment industry in Wales. Also, to lead the industry in customer service standards and implement long term relationships with candidates and customers. Also, to support customers with long term strategic recruitment plans rather than short term fulfilment. The initial challenges were starting a business in a crowded market, no brand recognition, and no reputation.
Hoop has succeeded due to its excellent customer service and following through with commitments and promises, delivering feedback with honesty (good and the bad). It has also putting people first - employees well-being and families come first, giving flexibility for an actual work life balance. Finally, it has a pro-active rather than a reactive approach to customers’ recruitment needs, discussing long term strategy to make the right appointments and reduce rates of attrition.
The business aims to focus on getting local authority contract wins across the education, professional services and healthcare sectors. It will also open new branches in North Wales (Wrexham) and the South West (Exeter) and double the headcount to sixty employees within the next five years.
