Origins
Curzon Wealth Management was established after its managing director decided to leave one of the country’s largest private banks and form his own practice after feeling constrained and unable to give clients as much support as he wanted to. From humble beginnings, it has grown to a practice of seven financial advisers and eight administration staff. At the beginning, the major challenges were acquiring enough clients to make the business viable and learning how to deal with the irregular income patterns that come with the early days of self-employment.
Success Factor
The main success factors for the business over the last decade have been working hard with professional introducers to gain new client referrals, recruiting and developing high quality team members, and making good business acquisitions.
The Future
The aims for the future are to increase adviser numbers to twenty and client numbers to 3,000. Curzon Wealth Management is also looking to manage £500 million of client funds and increase net profit to £2million per year. It also aims to have a training programme in place for graduates and people looking to change careers and help them into the industry.
