HSG Facilities Management (HSGFM) is a facilities management company based in Cardiff which is split into three business areas namely housekeeping, security and enforcement. Initially. HSGFM began by providing housekeeping, front of house and facilities management services to hotels under the name ‘Hotel Services Group’. It then acquired a security company and became known as HSG Facilities Management, providing security, CCTV, keyholding and alarm response services to many different sectors. In 2019, the business launched its third branch ‘National Enforcement Solutions’, which provides local authorities with environmental enforcement services. This helps councils to combat environmental crimes such as littering, fly tipping and dog fouling by issuing Fixed Penalty Notices for these offences.

Origins

Success Factor
The predominant factor that has contributed to the growth of the business is HSG’s employees. Its staff consistently delivers the best service possible to current clients and they go above and beyond in their service delivery, which helps to retain current contracts. The second factor is adaptability and during COVID-19 pandemic, HSG Facilities Management has had to adapt to the ever changing global and national climate to remain operational. Its enforcement branch adapted by modifying the service it provides to include COVID marshalling within a few days’ notice. This included hiring more staff to supplement the growth in manpower so as not to detract from their usual services. As a business, HSG has learnt to take opportunities as and when they are presented to it. This ensures that the business is in keeping with the changing needs of the industries that it operates within and is constantly striving to add to and improve the services that it provides.
The Future
Over the next five years, HSG aims to focus on building and developing relationships with current clients and keep an open discourse about areas of improvements. This will always ensure that the business is providing the best service possible. As a business, HSG wants to ensure that its service speaks for itself. Ensuring that current clients and contracts are all being delivered at the highest possible standard can lead to recommendations, testimonials, and referrals within the sector. Finally, HSG will acquire new contracts through sales, marketing, and tender opportunities, increasing its online presence on multiple social media platforms to help advertise the company and its services. Tender sites will also be closely monitored to look for new opportunities.
