Illustrate Digital is a user research, UX design and WordPress consultancy with offices in Cardiff and Bristol. It helps brands to understand user behaviour and make design decisions that lead to more engagement and sales online, as well as developing secure websites and applications.

Origins
The business was started because of frustration and bad experiences with how web agencies tend to operate. Scott Jones, the founder, decided to build a business that put the customer first and would offer a way to build exceptional user experiences, whilst putting the power in the hands of the people creating and publishing their own content. Digital illustrate business was founded in Lancashire, before later moving to Cardiff in 2014.
Success Factor
The business is dedicated to the WordPress and WooCommerce platforms, two brilliant tools for building better web experiences. For this reason, paired with its amazing customer service, Illustrate Digital attracts and retains great clients to work on ambitious projects with the business. The strong digital economy in Wales’ capital city boosted its chances of success tremendously. This was alongside access to good, creative talent and useful support from the Welsh Government for small businesses such as the Accelerated Growth Programme and Jobs Growth Wales.
The Future
As a business. Digital Illustrate has invested heavily into its user experience capabilities, expanding the offering to include user research alongside heuristic evaluations. This combination will allow it to help businesses and brands to make better decisions about their websites and applications, better serving the audiences they’re built for. Strengthening its UX services, alongside existing market leadership in WordPress, will allow Digital Illustrate to further scale into one of the UK’s leading web and technology agencies over the next five years.
