Mental Health Awareness was a jam-packed week for us at Wellity where we delivered 72 hours of training sessions across 38 countries, reaching over 3,000 employees globally. The theme this year was loneliness, such a relevant and salient topic all organisations should be talking about and raising awareness amongst their teams, particularly as we tackle the emerging loneliness epidemic following the past few years of lockdown and isolation. As part of our training, we’ve put together a few ways you can reframe the idea of being ‘alone’ to be more of a positive and empowering experience.

Create a routine

Routines are a really good way of anchoring yourself in the present: in times of massive insecurity, they give back an element of control. Make sure you make time for all the essentials every day, including sleep, cooking and eating, exercise, social activity work and, of course, personal downtime and self-care.

Discover how to be present

Time alone, that is true, uninterrupted solitude is a chance to strengthen your sense of identity in a way that is not influenced by any other people at all. There are several ways in which you can do this, journaling, meditation and practising gratitude.

One of the biggest things we need to be thinking about when combatting loneliness is staying connected. Positive relationships with friends family and colleagues help us thrive. It is important to remember that you are not alone in how you are feeling and there is always someone there to listen.

Simon Scott Nelson

Simon Scott-Nelson: Founder & CEO, Wellity Global says,

It’s been a very busy year so far for us here at Wellity and we are constantly blown away by the rate at which attitudes to workplace wellbeing are changing. So many amazing people who really care about the wellbeing of their people are taking steps to better support their teams and we’re privileged to be on this journey with them.

We’re always looking forward and there are certainly some big events coming up on the calendar both for us at Wellity and globally.

Firstly, we’re delighted to present the NSPiRED experience, together with former Rugby players, Jonny Wilkinson and Mark Wilkinson - an exploration of potential, freedom and choice. An exclusive invitation-only day where you can meet and work directly with Jonny Wilkinson and Mark Wilkinson themselves, learning how to test your true leadership and performance potential.

Next up in June, we have Pride Month. Pride is all about protecting trans youth, validating intersections, supporting your LGBTQ+ friends and others to feel at home in themselves, and fighting for their equal rights. It’s recognising the ongoing struggle that many still have in feeling free and able to live life as their authentic self.

Creating an inclusive work environment is essential. Making sure your leaders are equipped to support minorities is crucial. We have some truly thought-provoking sessions to support your teams throughout this incredibly important month, such as:

  • Words Hurt, Be Alert
  • Creating an Inclusive Workforce
  • Celebrating Pride Month

The Wellity team are always striving to support those that are wanting to be #bettereveryday and make a real difference in workplace wellbeing. Get in touch with them at hello@wellityglobal.com to find out how they can better support your organisation.
