Here at the Great British Businesswoman Series, we are working to create a space where gender equality is the norm, where we can eradicate the gender pay gap, and inspire the next generation of women to do anything they want, and be confident enough to do so - and with businesses like Global Processing Service (GPS) on our side, we’re getting closer and closer to achieving this.
GPS provides next-generation payment issuing solutions for the world’s leading challenger brands. Since 2007, they have embarked on a journey to accelerate the delivery of better financial experiences around the world. Enabling the monumental rise of fintech challengers and technology leaders, as well as working with financial institutions to set the standards in payments transformation.
GPS has established its position as a trusted and proven provider thanks to a diverse team of industry experts, our API-first and cloud-based processing network, and a growing partner ecosystem.
GPS’ former CEO, now Vice-Chair Joanne Dewar was awarded Technology Businesswoman of the Year at the 2021 Great British Businesswoman Awards, for her inspiring journey at GPS, and for being a highly successful businesswoman running a business that is setting out to make changes in the industry.
Joining in 2014 and promoted to Chief Executive Officer in 2018, Joanne was instrumental in scaling GPS and securing investment from arguably the most impressive consortium in the payments industry, closing a $400 million fundraise in January 2022. Joanne stepped up to the newly created role of Vice-Chair in July 2022 and focuses on the GPS’ growth and global profile. Prior to GPS, Joanne worked in management consulting, where she specialised in complex multinational transformation programmes for FTSE 100 companies.
GPS’ mission, and Joannes’s connection and understanding of what we are trying to achieve here make them the perfect fit as our latest sponsor.
Joanne Dewar, Vice-Chair at Global Processing Service says: “Following my award win last year I am delighted to be part of this year’s judging panel. The Great British Businesswoman Awards recognise so many women achieving fantastic things across a wide range of industries. Having worked with some amazing female role models over the course of my career I believe it is so important that we champion the next generation of leaders. This is something we strive to do at GPS; through our recruitment initiatives, inclusive culture and comprehensive learning and development programmes.”
Discussing the latest sponsorship, Adam Stacey, portfolio director of the Great British Businesswomen Series said: “It is such an honour to be teaming up with GPS to bring you the Great British Businesswomen Series. Joanne’s connection with the awards programme and everything she is striving to achieve with GPS makes this a great fit! I truly believe with GPS on our side we can pave the way for more women in technology.
