The StartUp Awards National Series was built around the ever-growing number of start-ups across the UK. With almost 80 businesses starting an hour, the rise of start-ups is in full force - and doesn’t seem to be slowing down. At The StartUp Awards National Series, we look to discover and celebrate some of the newest and most talented StartUp businesses of the moment. As well as our mission to champion these startups, we are dedicated to supporting them far beyond just the awards shows. We aim to provide them with resources and opportunities to help them excel in their business journey, and any other ventures they may take on.

As the startup community continues to grow, we are so excited to join forces with BT Skills for Tomorrow to help provide a platform, support network, and community of like-minded individuals, to those that will truly benefit from it.

BT’s purpose is to ‘Connect for Good’, which highlights everything we stand for here at The StartUp Awards National Series, making them a great partner for us. BT is dedicated to accelerating initiatives across their whole organisation to drive growth, by using technology that is responsible, inclusive and sustainable. As part of their BT Skills for Tomorrow programme they have so far delivered free digital skills training to more than 300,000 UK small business owners and their employees and are aiming to reach 1 million by 2026. As part of the programme, business owners and their employees can take advantage of free, expert-led webinars, 1-to-1 mentoring and online courses from BT and their partners to help them learn new digital skills and unlock the potential of their business.

Professor Dylan Jones-Evans, at The StartUp Awards National Series said:

“We are honoured to be partnering with BT, a business that, like us at the National StartUp Awards, is dedicated to helping expand the knowledge and opportunities for small businesses. With so many resources and support available to businesses and entrepreneurs, our partnership seemed like a natural fit. We believe with the support of BT, the future for startups will be bright.”

Chris Sims, BT’s MD for its SoHo (Single/Small Office, Home Office unit), said:

“We’re really excited to be supporting The StartUp Awards National Series for 2022. Startups and small firms are at the centre of the UK economy, so we’re really passionate about supporting the community with our free Skills for Tomorrow resources to help boost their digital skills, with more than 300,000 small business employees reached so far. The awards provide small firms with a high profile platform to recognise and celebrate their achievements and to enable others to take learnings from their success.”
