I’ve been talking to a number of entrepreneurs recently about how they have pivoted during these challenging times and adopted a ‘plan b’ to ensure the survival of their business post Covid-19. In this episode I talk to Emeka and Ifeyinwa Frederick, the founders of Chuku’s.
Previous Great British Entrepreneur Awards’ 2018 Finalists, their journey started by “popping up across London with their award-winning restaurant concept”.
Following a successful crowdfunding campaign (which you can read about here), they moved in and launched their first permanent site in Tottenham earlier this year. Pre-pandemic they were enjoying the launch of their bricks and mortar restaurant and on a mission to celebrate the beauty of Nigerian culture.
Food & Drink businesses on the high street have been hit tremendously by the recent pandemic and they admit that Covid-19 has had a significant impact on their business. But knowing that they’re about “more than food”, they’ve pivoted in a unique way, bringing people together and celebrating their culture digitally.
