Business to Business Services StartUp

This award category recognises any start-up in the UK delivering services to other businesses.

Construction & Building Services StartUp

This award category recognises any start-up operating in the construction and building services industries in the UK.

Consumer Services StartUp

This award category recognises any start-up operating in the consumer services industry in the UK.

Creative StartUp

This award category recognises those start-ups that are operating in the creative sector in the UK

Digital StartUp

This award category recognises those start-ups that are operating in the UK’s digital sector.

Food & Drink StartUp

This award category recognises those start-ups who are developing new food products and drinks in the UK.

Graduate StartUp

any start-up in the UK which has been founded by an individual (or individuals) who have graduated from a UK-based university.

Green StartUp

This award category recognises start-ups developing those products, processes or services that are resulting in significant environmental improvements. 

Innovative StartUp

This award is open to any innovation-driven start-up in the UK.

Leeds StartUp

This award is open to any start-up based in the Leeds area.

Manufacturing & Engineering StartUp

This award is open to any start-up based in the manufacturing and engineering sector in the UK.

Medtech & Healthtech StartUp

This award is open to those start-ups who are developing new products, services or solutions that are then used to save and improve people’s lives.

Mobile & Emerging Technologies StartUp

This award is open to all start-ups in the UK involved in the development of virtual reality, augmented reality, artificial intelligence, Internet of Things and iOS, Android or cross-platform apps.

Online Retail StartUp

This award is open to any start-up based in the online retail sector in the UK.

Professional Services StartUp

This award is open to any start-up operating in professional services sector.

Rising Star Award

This award is given to those new companies that are less than one year old (launched after 28th Feb 2021).

Rural StartUp

This award is open to any start-up in the UK which is rurally-based (located outside towns with more than 10,000 resident population). 

Social Enterprise StartUp

A social enterprise is defined as one with an asset lock in its constitution, volunteer involvement at board level and restrictions on private distribution of dividends. The award is open to any social enterprise in the UK that has been operating for less than three years.

Tourism & Leisure StartUp

This award is open to any start-up based in the tourism and leisure sector in the UK. 

Young Entrepreneur

This award is given to those aged 30 and under at the close of entries on 28th Feb 2022, who have established their own start-up in the previous three years.
