Penny Power was awarded her OBE in 2014 for her contribution to Entrepreneurship in the Social Digital Economy. Her 35-year career in technology and digital enablement began in 1983. However, in 1998 Penny describes herself as an Accidental Entrepreneur, when she Founded Ecademy, the world’s first online business social network, supporting over 650,000 small business owners across 52 countries online and through over 5000 small intimate offline groups that met and supported each other closely.
In 2011 Penny Founded Digital Youth Academy (DYA), creating the now highly established, Digital Marketing Apprenticeship, this new Apprentice supported 1000 young people into jobs while Penny was the CEO, DYA was sold to a National Training Provider in 2016.
The Author of the Manifesto for Digital Business Britain, Know Me, Like Me, Follow Me and her latest book, “Business is Personal”.
Penny has always been a torch bearer, firstly for community, then digital skills and now for emotional and mental wellbeing for business owners. In her book she shares her own revealing story and encourages others to seek help and apply more self-care.
Penny now supports other Entrepreneurs to prepare and scale their businesses through her Business is Personal Mastermind program.
