Four of Twitter's key executives will leave the company, chief executive Jack Dorsey has confirmed.

Twitter's head of product, head of media, head of engineering and head of human resources will all leave within the next few weeks.

Mr Dorsey recently said he would make a series of changes when he returned to the company he co-founded. He confirmed the news in a tweet on Sunday, saying the four would take some "well-deserved time off".

The head of Vine will also leave Twitter, but he is leaving the social media platform to work on virtual reality with Google.

Jack Dorsey returned to Twitter in an attempt to steady the ship somewhat. The company has struggled to convince investors that it can sustain financial growth. In comparison to Facebook's advertising revenue, Twitter has barely grown in recent years.
