Graeme Sands
Graeme Sands is the Corporate & Growth Banking Director at Virgin Money UK.
Graeme has been a member of the business bank leadership team since 2016. He’s responsible for the externally-facing proposition for larger SMEs, smaller corporates and ambitious fast-growing businesses as well as the banking products that support them and the customer economics behind it all.
Graeme joined Clydesdale Bank in 2006, focusing mainly on debt funding larger TMT transactions and going on to develop and run the bank’s venture debt offering, Growth Finance, in 2010.
Graeme trained as a CA with PwC; then worked in their M&A practice focusing almost exclusively on the technology sector. That took him to a new role as CFO for a VC funded fintech business and then to GM of a larger software business before he entered the world of banking. He remains a Non-Executive Director in the fintech business which keeps him connected to the real-world issues impacting businesses in the UK today.
