Easydate, the UK’s leading online dating company have acquired Associated Northcliffe Digital’s (the UK’s leading digital publisher of premium-content consumer websites) portfolio of online dating sites, for an undisclosed amount, helping consolidate Easydate‘s position and marking the next stage in the Company’s growth strategy (which may include a stock market listing at some point). Easydate turned over about £12m in 2009 (with profits of about £2.8m) and expects turnover to near £20m this year.
By way of background, EasyDate saw phenomenal growth in 2009 both in terms of revenue, size and reach and is listed at number 30 in the Deloitte Technology Fast 50 UK of fast growing companies and 165 in the Deloitte Technology Fast 500 EMEA for 2009. In the last five years it has achieved a growth rate of 1063% and average monthly revenue growth of 7% during 2009.
Pre this acquisition, EasyDate had about 7 million members across all its sites and membership is growing at around 300,000 per month.
