Taking place on October 14th, the Great British Businesswoman Forum celebrates and inspires women in business across the United Kingdom.

The Great British Businesswoman Series will showcase the business role models, advocates and mentors, as well as the inspirational women leading businesses and those ascending new heights. More than just an awards show, the Great British Businesswoman Series is a year-round community-focused programme to celebrate the women who are changing the face of business across the United Kingdom, through the forum going live October 14th.

The Great British Businesswoman Forum are jam-packed with thought-provoking and influential women revolutionising the business world. The series will have talks from dozens of women from across the business industry, discussing their experiences within their respective areas. There will be panels for how businesses can help women in the workplace, properly utilising the next generation of female workers, how to effectively create a diverse and inclusive workplace, and so much more that you can register your attendance for HERE. 

Even more excitingly, the awards ceremony will be hosted by Carol Vorderman herself, the legendary Welsh TV Personality and host of the Pride of Britain Awards.

1. In conversation with Carol Rosati OBE: UK I&D Lead, GSK

Carol Rosati OBE, is the UK I&D Lead at GSK and the Vice-Chair and Chair of the Nominations Committee for UN Women UK and Carol has championed women in senior leadership since founding the senior women’s business network Inspire in 2008, she was awarded an OBE in the Queen’s 2015 Birthday Honours List for Services to Women In Business and was included in the Global Top 50 D&I professionals list in 2016, 2017 & 2018. Included in 100 Women to Watch: The Female FTSE Board Report 2017. In this session, we hear from Carol about her experience as a woman in business, why she decided to champion women leaders, and her advice on how women can reach senior leadership positions.

2. Belonging: the key to transforming and maintaining diversity, inclusion, and equality at work:

Join Sue Unerman, CTO at MediaCom, Kathryn Jacob CEO at Pearl and Dean and Mark Edwards, music journalist and mindfulness coach (and author of Tao of Bowie) to hear about their 2 years of research and insights, and to discuss how to step-change our industry to create a better, kinder, workplace that really reaps the rewards and benefits from diversity.

3. In conversation with Former Apprentice Finalist - Michaela Wain, Managing Director, Design and Build UK

Join me as I talk with Michaela Wain, the owner of several construction related businesses, including Design and Build UK, which is the largest hard copy and online construction magazine in the UK. Michaela is an apprentice finalist and has been named the ambassador for women in construction with the National Federation of Builders. She is in the process of lobbying the government and building an accreditation to support women in construction. Michaela joins us at the Great British Businesswomen Forum to discuss her experience as a woman working in a male-dominated industry, the challenges of being a working mum, social mobility, and dealing with anxiety and depression throughout her career.

The esteemed judges of the Great British Business Woman Awards include some of the most iconic leaders in diversity and female empowerment. The 2021 awards programme is judged by Asif Sadiq MBE, the Vice President for Equity and Inclusion from WarnerMedia, Kathryn Jacob OBE, CEO of one of the biggest names in cinema marketing, Pearl and Dean, Sarah Koppens, UK Marketing Director of Bird’s Eye, Aunt Bessie’s, and Goodfella’s, Lopa Patel MBE, Chair of Diversity UK, among a range of others.

Each judge brings with them an array of experience across the categories and special recognition awards.
