Launched by the creators of the Great British Entrepreneur Awards, Food & Drink Heroes will recognise and champion entrepreneurs within the UK’s food and drink industry.

BoroughBox supports honest and inspiring independent food and drink businesses by connecting them directly to customers. They pride themselves on being at the forefront of the food and drink industry. They’re all about innovation and experimentation; they shine a light on unseen gems and uncover tomorrow’s trends.

BoroughBox began when founder, Andrew Lawson, saw first-hand the challenges that independent producers were forced to overcome - staying afloat in a biased market that neglected them in favour of mass-market suppliers. BoroughBox was then born on an alternative model that puts people above profit. Their platform is filled with the finest food and drink from thousands of independent producers on a global scale.

BoroughBox also joins the Great British Entrepreneur Awards as its Gift Partner, providing a hamper to each finalist of the National Final in December.

Francesca James, founder of Food & Drink Heroes, said: “I’m delighted that the team at BoroughBox has joined our mission. We share a common goal to champion incredible independent food and drink creators that are driving innovation in the industry to new levels, which makes us ideally placed to come together and celebrate these people.”

Andrew Lawson, founder of BoroughBox, said: “We couldn’t be happier to work alongside Food & Drink Heroes to showcase the best of British food and drink businesses. The heart of our own business is about solving issues for independent brands to help them flourish and challenge the more entrenched, ubiquitous products within categories”

The awards programme will consist of 13 categories, including Innovation Entrepreneur of the Year, Confectionary Entrepreneur of the Year and Start-up Entrepreneur of the Year.

Entries will be assessed by some of the UK’s most successful food and drink entrepreneurs, as well as industry experts.

Entries closed Friday 22nd January 2021, with the awards ceremony taking place in Spring 2021.
