Vodafone users in the UK have lost SMS, voice and mobile internet services following a break in last night at one of the network's technical facilities.

Equipment was damaged, leading to a loss of service for an unknown number of users. Reports of the problem have been appearing on Twitter from Oxfordshire, Berkshire, Hampshire and Surrey among others.

Vodafone have stated, however, that "There has been no impact on the privacy of customers' data," and have promised that they are "working quickly" to repair the damage and return services to normal.

Most recently, some twitter users have been reporting a patchy return of service, but it seems the problem has not yet been wholly resolved.
