Small and medium sized businesses are embracing and implementing new cost saving technology, a business IT support provider said yesterday (September 3rd).According to Technology Means Business, such enterprises have shown that they are willing to try out new technology, and that those who do will receive "substantial cost savings".The comments support recent figures from the Office for National Statistics (ONS) that show a widespread adoption of information and communication technology (ICT) among SMEs. Around 93 per cent of businesses in the UK with ten or more employees used devices such as personal computers in 2005, the data revealed.Phil Flaxton, spokesperson for Technology Means Business, said: "There are SMEs that have embraced and implemented new technologies and are always early adopters, and there are others that struggle."He added that "VoIP and things like Skype" could help those who had adopted ICT with financial savings."There are nearly three million SMEs in the UK so it depends on what they actually do," he said.© Adfero Ltd
