Talk Talk Group have been named as the most complained about major telecoms company for both broadband provision and landline services, while 3UK were the most complained about mobile services provider.
Ofcom, the Government backed telecommunications regulator, daily handles some 400 complaints ranging from incorrect billing to mis-selling and poor customer service. Today they named and shamed the worst offenders.
With 1.78 complaints per thousand for their landline service, Talk Talk were by far the most complained about provider, while the 2nd most complained about- BskyB received just 0.41. Virgin media, with 0.21 / 1000 were the least complained about.
For broadband the pattern was much the same; Talk Talk the most complained about by a wide margin whilst Virgin Media the least.
And for mobile service provision, 3UK and T-Mobile came in highest, at 0.15 and 0.13 respectively while O2 had just 0.04 complaints per 1000.
“Consumers should have access to as much information as possible to allow them to choose between providers and to take full advantage of the competition in the sector,” commented Ofcom’s Chief Executive, Ed Richards.
“By publishing complaints data, Ofcom aims to provide useful information to consumers, and also to give telecoms providers an incentive to improve their customer service”.
