Many may not remember Android's 2008 handset, but the Linux based operating system- purchased by Google in 2005- has released the much anticipated 'Gingerbread 2.3'.

Samsung have replaced the Chinese based HTC Corporation, who produced the previous Android smartphones, to develop a handset bursting with technology that just might be slick enough to give Apple's iPhone 4 a run for their money.

Features include a fast 1Ghz 'Hummingbird' processor; intuitive, touchscreen operation; generous battery life and a wealth of apps to choose from.

A full report detailing the features and specifications of the new device can be read on the developer's website..
