Ever keen to catch up to Facebook, Google (NASDAQ: GOOG) have today unveiled four new features for their fledgling, yet rapidly growing Google plus social network.
Boasted as “a new place to visit for interesting and unexpected content,” What’s Hot allows users to instantly see the most interesting news or most exciting developments within each circle of friends.
The Creative Kit allows for much more creative control over photographs, without the need for time and money intensive software.
Google+ Ripples allows you to see how your community reacts to news and updates on the site. But Vic Gundotra, Senior Vice President of Engineering at Google, explaines it best on the tech giant’s latest blog:
“There’s something deeply satisfying about sharing on Google+, then watching the activity unfold. Comments pour in, notifications light up, friends share with friends (who share with their friends), and in no time at all there’s an entire community around your post. We want to help people re-live those conversations–both to rekindle that initial excitement, and to learn how posts flow across the network. That’s why we’re launching Google+ Ripples: a visualization tool for public shares and comments.”
And finally, Google Apps has joined the social network, by popular demand.
